Strong magnetoelectric coupling effect of BiFeO3/Bi5Ti3FeO15 bilayer composite films

摘要
BiFeO3/Bi5Ti3FeO15 (BFO/BTFO) bilayer multiferroic composite films were deposited on Pt (100)/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates using chemical solution deposition. Well-defined microstructure, improved multiferroic properties, and strong magnetoelectric coupling effect were obtained at room temperature. Such strong magnetoelectric effect originates from not only spin orbit coupling in spin-driven ferroelectric systems for respective single-phase multiferroic layer, but the interface coupling between BiFeO3 and Bi5Ti3FeO15 film layers. The present work provides a simple way to fabricate lead-free multiferroic films with strong magnetoelectric effect. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l. All rights reserved.
