摘要
In this paper we have studied free surface flow in a 2-D cavity with a moving floor by VoF method. By this numerical method, free surface flow in laminar and turbulence cases can be solved to achieve the impacted factors on the dimensional analysis. Comparing the results of laminar and turbulence cases, we would have a less calculation time to approach steady state and symmetric circulation in laminar case. Also, in the turbulence mode, both states (with and without surface tension) have been compared and the inconsiderable effect of surface tension will be presented. In addition, this numerical method can solve the free surface flow in laminar cases to comprise the impacted factors on the dimensional analysis such as different velocity for moving floor, different height of fluid in the container, different fluid properties (density and viscosity), etc. So, the density and viscosity significance of fluid should be considered. Also, in free surface flows we have showed Reynolds number has no magnitude in contrast to flows without free surface.
