The existence of positive radial singular rupture solutions of the problem div(1 del u\(p-2)del u) =f(u) with f(0) = 00 in a finite ball is obtained via the Pohozaev identity and some comparison arguments. (C) 2006 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
