摘要
A mathematical model describing the close-contact melting process of phase change material in a spherical enclosure is developed. The governing integro-differential equations are solved by the numerical integral technique. By considering the two-phase interface shape more precisely, the variation of the melt-film thickness profile with time is obtained. The calculated descending velocities of phase change solid are confirmed by the available experimental data. It is shown that the proposed model can cover the whole range of close-contact melting.
