This paper presents "points out" or argues "about" the possibilities of regional gastronomy as a competitive advantage in a relation with restrictions of the use of gastronomy as a promotion of local tourism. The town of Jindrichuv Hradec, located in southeastern Bohemia, serves to show limits and possibilities of local gastronomy in a relation with tourism. The post presents and comments results of a survey conducted on this topic in the second half of 2014. It analyzes the situation where there are no typical local products known and the region has not been engaged in any gastronomy promotion yet, although the tourism has a significant importance for the town and the region as well.
