This article tries to define the term "atypical neuroleptic". A good extra-pyramidal tolerability is a central aspect of this definition. The substances which were developed in the past few years, as well as older substances like clozapine (the prototype of atypical neuroleptics) and zotepine seem to fulfill the criteria of this definition.
