摘要
In this paper, we propose the scene change detection algorithm using shape information in MPEG-4 compressed domain. Shape information is used in MPEG-4 to efficiently encode and describe the arbitrary shape of an object in a frame. To detect the abrupt scene change, from the MPEG-4 bitstream we obtain shape information such as the size of video object plane (VOP), the coding type of macro block (MB) in VOP, and the shape motion vector of MB. Then, we compare the shape information values of the current frame with those of the previous one and decide whether the scene change occurs or not. Comparison with the conventional scene change detection methods, such as the shape based Hausdorff distance (HD) method, texture motion vector based method, and histogram based method, shows the effectiveness of the. proposed algorithm.
