Magnetic properties of the melt-processed Nd-Ba-Cu-O superconductor have been investigated with the third harmonic ac susceptibility (chi(3)) The critical current density (J(c)) evaluated from chi(3) decreased with decreasing the frequency accompanied by the shift of the secondary peak towards the lower field. The E-J characteristics are obtained from the frequency dependence of chi(3) and the magnetic relaxation measurement. On the assumption of the power law E similar to J(n), we found that the field which gives the peak n value was the same for both measurements. This suggests that the field-induced pinning is the most effective near this field.
