摘要
This on-going research work emphasizes the use of andalusite in some high alumina castables for some steelmaking applications. Andalusite presents some very specific characteristics after firing. In order to capitalize on these advantages to optimize the thermomechanical properties of these castables, micronized andalusite is combined with different kind of hydraulic binders and non hydraulic bonding agents. This paper presents the general aspects of the designs of experiments used and the mechanical results obtained so far.
