摘要:
CHEMKOP has been conducting surveys of possibilities of constructing underground storage for natural gas, petroleum and petroleum-derived fuels in halite deposits in Poland. This paper presents a few selected locations recognised as the most suitable for this purpose. Having in mind time- and capital- related requirements for the storage investments, the following options are presented: construction of new caverns for storage purposes using existing infrastructure of leaching mines; construction of new cavern storage in the regions meeting ail requirements. adaptation of underground borehole-type and classical halite mines for storage purposes. As supplementary information, the authors also present the current stages of storage construction in specific regions. The stages are varied: from preliminary plans through designing and the construction itself. Facing considerable demand for storage capacity, information included herein may be helpful for potential investors and users.
