摘要
A dramatic change in the recombination rate and mechanism for the reaction of H3O+ and OH. is observed upon the addition of three solvating water molecules to each reactant. These reactions have been studied by detecting the fast neutral products resulting from electrostatic merging of mass selected beams of oppositely charged cluster ions. The reactions have been studied as a function of clustering, center-of-mass collision energy, and fast neutral spot size.
