A study on ONB is performed by GNN in vertical narrow annuli with bilateral heating. Based on GA and ANN, a GNN model predicting non has been developed. The q(ONB) prediction is investigated by GNN with distilled water flowing upward through narrow annuli with 0.95 mm, 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm gaps, respectively. The GNN prediction results have a good agreement with experimental data. A parametric study has been conducted to investigate the effects of system pressure, mass flux, wall superheat and geometrical structure on q(ONB) by applying GNN. Simulation and analysis results show that GNN can effectually predict q(ONB). (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
