摘要：

Various aspects of the innate immune system are discussed. The innate immune system recognizes generic classes of molecules produced by a variety of disease-causing agents, or pathogens. The innate immune response constitutes the first line of defense against invading microbes and plays a significant role in inflammatory disease. It is stated that if the Toll-like receptors fail, the entire immune system crashes.
