摘要：

Located in the middle of China, Hubei province possesses abundant nature resources. With a comprehensive industrial structure and technology foundation, the economic development of Hubei is restricted by environmental pollution, high energy consumption and low efficiency energy utilization. In this context, to develop ecological tourism may contribute to facilitate local economic growth. Meanwhile, efforts should be taken to develop renewable energy in order to reduce the current economic development mode which is highly dependent on fossil fuels. The local government needs to promote the development of biomass energy, solar photovoltaics technology, semiconductor illumination, wind power generating electricity, and energy saving equipment. At present, some regions in Hubei are in the process with rapidly urbanization. This research may contribute to develop green cities, and achieve sustainable development.
