A coordination polymeric gelator based on Ag(I) and 2, 7-bis(1-imidazole) fluorene was synthesized and characterized by H-1 NMR, FT-IR, FE-SEM, UV-vis. The gelator forms a gel which exhibits thixotropic behavior and stimuli responsive to S2-, I- and displays antibacterial properties against Bacillus subtilis, Streptococcus aureus and Escherchia coli bacteria.
