A model composite for the interface of an elastic fiber embedded in an elastic-plastic matrix is proposed and analyzed. The matrix is taken to be elastic-plastic deformation and to be of the power-hardening exponent. Based on the shear-lag theory, two displacement functions are chosen as describing the deformation of the elastic zone and plastic zone. The interfacial stresses in elastic and plastic zones are obtained by the functions. The plastic zone is determined. And the problem of elastic-plastic interface failure is discussed also.
