Via homoclinic breather limit method, breather wave and rogue wave solutions for a Zakharov-Kuznetsov (ZK) equation are obtained. Furthermore, the extended transformed rational function method is employed to seek the complexiton solutions of the equation. (C) 2021 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
