摘要：

Both title compounds, [Cd(SO4)(C12H8N2)(H2O)(2)](n) and [Cd(SO4)(C14H12N2)(H2O)(2)](n), respectively, are polymeric and present the Cd atoms in very similar octahedral environments, provided by the bidentate organic ligand (phenanthroline/dimethylphenanthroline), two aqua molecules and two O atoms from two translationally related sulfate groups, which thus act as links in the resulting polymeric chains.
