摘要：
The paper is focused on issues of tourism and its development opportunities in the Region of Pohronie. The aim of the paper is to evaluate a potential of the given region and to propose steps for improving its promotion which would help an increase in its visit rate by home and foreign tourists. Within the paper there are used methods of analysis, synthesis as well as graphical and cartographical methods. Using a questionnaire survey, realized in the study area, new steps for its promotion were proposed - a suitable logo of the region and a map of the region with tourist information.
