摘要：
In this study, we report on the preparation of hydroxyapatite (HAP) plasma powders, and then we show the crystallographic, morphologic, mechanical properties and solubility properties of plasma sprayed coatings made from different powders. Researchers have worked out and published several methods to prepare HAP. Out of the published methods, we selected the 5 Ca(NO3)(2) + 3 (NH4)(2)HPO4 + 4 NH4OH --> Ca-5(PO4)(3)OH + 10 NH4NO3 + 3 H2O reaction to prepare HAP plasma powder, as we were able to prepare bioceramics of the desired porosity with the enhancement of that method according to our CO 4B 35/447 (1996) patent.
