摘要
Cinnamon is an evergreen plant species that is cultivated for medicinal and aromatic purposes. Essential oils obtained from this plant have potential industrial applications, as an antimicrobial and antioxidant agent. In addition, cinnamon essential oil has also demonstrated a promising antiparasitic effect against various ectoparasites, including ticks. In this review, we discuss the potential acaricidal activity of cinnamon essential oil, with a special focus on tick control. Furthermore, we identify some challenges that need to be addressed before future development and application of cinnamon essential oil as a botanical acaricide in tick control.
