Determination of vibration characteristics of noise sources solving an inverse radiation problem

摘要
This paper presents a technique to determine the normal velocity of the surface of a sound source from sound fields measurements on a surrounding surface. It is based upon the boundary element method and the use of integral equations. The sound pressure radiated by the source is written as a layer potential whose density is obtained by minimizing a function of the difference between sound pressure measurements and model. From the density so obtained, the normal velocity is computed everywhere on the sound surface. The accuracy and stability of the inversion scheme are studied through numerical and experimental results.
