Interlayer magnetoresistance theory for layered Dirac fermion systems: Application to α-(BEDT-TTF)2I3

摘要
Theoretically and experimentally it has been suggested that electrons in the quasi-two-dimensional organic compound x-(BEDT - TTF2I3 should have massless Dirac fermion energy spectrum with tilted Dirac cone. We show that a Dirac cone tilting leads to oscillations in the interlayer magnetoresistance if one applies an in-plane magnetic field and changes the orientation of the magnetic field. We derive the theoretical formula for the interlayer magnetoresistance and discuss application to alpha-(BEDT - TTF2I3. (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
