摘要
In this paper we discuss the performance of MIMO spatial multiplexing (MIMO-SM) systems. The first part of the paper compares the performance of the ordered successive cancellation (OSIC) receiver with independent encoding per antenna at the transmitter with the MMSE receiver with joint encoding at the, transmitter. We show that the latter system has better performance in terms of outage throughput at low and moderate SNR. In the second half of the paper we discuss receive antenna sub-set selection for MIMO-SM systems. In particular we develop fast, near optimal algorithms that achieve most of the selection gains. We also present extensive Monte Carlo simulations illustrating the performance benefits of sub-set selection.
