摘要
We developed a technique to produce three-dimensional computer models of forming fabrics. The technique consists of machining cross-sections of a fabric, imaging the cross-sections, and then reconstructing the fabric structure using computer-aided design (CAD). An application of this technique is demonstrated, showing the existence of critical distances between filaments, which computational fluid mechanics suggest may cause coarse backing layers in fabrics to influence micro-uniformity of drainage.
