Low-carbon logistics efficiency: Analysis on the statistical data of the logistics industry of 13 cities in Jiangsu Province, China

摘要
According to the panel data of the logistics industry development of 13 cities in Jiangsu Province, China, from 2010 to 2020, the carbon dioxide generated in the logistics operation process is regarded as an undesired output variable to construct a low-carbon logistics efficiency evaluation index system. This paper uses the three-stage Super-SBM model to eliminate environmental factors and random errors, and introduces the Malmquist index model to measure the static difference and dynamic change analysis of the efficiency of low-carbon logistics in Jiangsu Province. The research results reveal that the external environment and random factors have a certain impact on the measurement results. The efficiency of low-carbon logistics of the 13 cities increases steadily in the period 2010-2020, but the efficiency differences between cities gradually become prominent. Meanwhile, dynamic analysis shows that the efficiency of low-carbon logistics in Jiangsu Province is relatively high, but technological progress has not reached the optimal level yet, a huge room still existing for the improvement. The potential for simultaneously promoting the technological efficiency of low-carbon logistics and reducing carbon emissions remain great. The research results are of important reference value for promoting the transformation and upgrading of regional logistics in Jiangsu Province, China, reducing energy consumption, improving the efficiency of low-carbon logistics, and promoting the sustainable development of low-carbon logistics.
