Conjugate unsteady heat transfer from a sphere in Stokes flow

摘要
The conjugate heat transfer from a rigid spherical particle was analyzed theoretically by: the stagnant phases case; the creeping flow regime; and the moderate Re numbers domain. The Stokes flow was further studied with detailed analysis concerning the influence of the thermal conductivity and volume heat capacity ratios on the conjugate unsteady heat transfer. The quantity employed to express synthetically the heat transfer results is the asymptotic value of the overall instantaneous Nusselt number. The asymptotic values of the Nusselt number with corresponding Peclet numbers are presented.; The conjugate heat transfer from a rigid spherical particle was analysed theoretically. The aim of the this paper is to complete the Stokes flow studies of Abramson and Borde (1980) and Abramson and Elata (1984) with a detailed analysis concerning the influence of the thermal conductivity and volume heat capacity ratios on the conjugate unsteady heat transfer.
