摘要
Substituting primary fossil fuels with alternative fuels is an important development in the field of industrial combustion processes. Multifuel burners allow the use of both fuels in adjustable proportions. Because of the varying fuel quality, a permanent monitoring of the alternative fuel is necessary to guarantee an optimal combustion. This paper presents the integrated algorithm comprising image preprocessing and image analysis for a camera-based measurement system that enables an evaluation of the combustion behavior of the alternative fuel. The system is evaluated using a new three-dimensional graphics simulation model for multifuel burners in a rotary kiln. The implementation of the measurement system into a new industrial prototype provides long-term tests under real process conditions at an industrial rotary kiln for cement production. Correlation between image-based parameters and process parameters can be established. As a result, a control concept for multifuel burners is presented that enables a permanent adjustment of the burner parameters depending on the current state of combustion.
