摘要
This paper presents a novel beam-forming network operating in an octave frequency band by using a modified Butler matrix. The Butler matrix contains two different types of couplers which can switch the signal between the radiating elements at different frequencies. At f(0), the selected radiating elements spacing 2d are excited, whereas at 2f(0) the radiating elements spacing d are excited, ensuring the stable radiation pattern in the wide frequency range. This work has been verified by simulations, fabrications and measurements of broadband antenna array fed by a 2x4 beam-forming network operating in 2-4 GHz.
