摘要
This study explores the relationship between sexism and the distortion of romantic love myths in adolescents living in residential childcare in Valencia (Spain). Research design was cross-sectional and descriptive with a sample of 147 adolescents. Results reflected a positive, statistically significant, relationship between sexism and romantic distortions. Boys exhibited higher levels of sexism towards women and romantic love myths, while girls showed higher scores of sexism attitudes towards men. It was concluded that having experienced family violence does not have a significant effect in adoption of sexist attitudes and false romantic beliefs in institutionalised adolescents.
