摘要
A helix traveling wave tube(TWT) with a support rod embedded in a metal block operating at 6-18 GHz is proposed in this paper. The pitch and the radius of the helix are gradually changed or jumped to suppress the second harmonic and obtain high power output. The output power of the high power helix TWT can be more than 5 kW, except for the sharp decrease at 6 GHz that reaches 3.59 kW.
