摘要
The first phase of the SAC Steel Project focused on developing guidelines for the inspection, evaluation and repair of existing steel moment resisting frame buildings affected by the Northridge earthquake, and the design of new buildings, As part of this coordinated project, there were a number of topical investigations that were performed to provide information in the development of these guidelines, The topical investigations included a series of experimental studies, including the following: (a) laboratory tests of steel assemblies; (b) tests of field assemblies; (c) weldment tests; (d) nondestructive testing; and (e) materials tests, This paper will summarize the results from a number of these investigations and present conclusions derived from this work.
