摘要
This paper presents the design of a photonic crystal ring resonator based bio MEMS sensor to detect divergent chemical and biochemical molecules such as RK3E, INOK, RK3E-ras, YD-10B, Cytosol and Nucleus. The output transmission, quality factor, detection limits and sensitivity variation of these molecules are sensed by the designed sensor, which is simulated by Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method. A quality factor of 821 is obtained by using numerical calculations. The sensitivity of the proposed sensor is designed to be up to 881 nm/RIU (refractive index unit). As the biochemical molecules have exclusive refractive indices, the resonant wavelength, output transmission and other parameters are varied from one chemical to the other to detect the biochemical molecules.
