摘要
A low-temperature study of Li2B4O7: Cu crystals by methods of time-resolved polarization spectroscopy using synchrotron radiation in the 4-20 eV region and microsecond Xe flash lamp pulses in the 3-6 eV region is reported. The results strongly support the conclusion about a low-symmetry position of the Cu+ ion in its ground state. The temperature dependence of the decay kinetics of the Cu+-related 3.35 eV emission indicates a triplet nature for the relaxed excited state of the Cu+ centres. A pseudo off-centre position of the Cu+ ion in the relaxed excited state is suggested. (c) 2007 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
