Reduction and reuse of waste - design and new-generation plastics

摘要
Today, it is important to knowledge all the practicable ways to reduce and reuse waste. The solution of this problem must include a general strategy about utilisation of the various recycling techniques, and/or energy recovery. Indeed, we are encouraged to do so, due to the large amount of packaging and disposable items. These products should be removed from the waste stream, reprocessed and used again. In this work we will analyze systems and consumption model respectful with the environment, eco-efficient manufacturing processes, new generations of plastics (biodegradable plastics, green composites materials and biocomposites), and we will propose some new products can be manufactured using these new generations of materials with less environmental impact.
