Active noise control for in-duct attenuation and control of breakout noise

摘要：
Active control of noise provides a means of attenuating lower frequency noise in ducts, thereby reducing both the transmitted noise and breakout noise from the duct. Recent developments in the cancellation of higher order duct modes has increased the frequency range of active control systems and also enabled them to be used in ducts of larger cross section. The basis of active control of noise in ducts is explained and examples given of installations, including for higher order modes.
