摘要
On account of the antimicrobial activity of epinephrine, it is elegantly designed and synthesized in high yield a novel plethora of thiourea derivatives by treating with various biopotent isothiocyanates. The chemical structures of the new compounds were characterized by FT-IR, H-1, C-13 NMR, LC-MS, and HR-MS and they have been evaluated for their in vitro antimicrobial and antioxidant activities (DPPH, FRAP, superoxide anion scavenging, and catalase activity). Nitro- and chloro-substituted compounds exhibited high antimicrobial activity. A molecular modeling study was performed on NADPH oxidase to investigate the hypothetical binding mode of the most active antioxidant agents and binding conformers were proposed.
