摘要
Events, both large and small, have the potential to attract tourists and to enhance the image of a destination. For lecturers in event management in technical colleges and universities, the challenge is to find the best way to prepare students for future employment in event tourism Consideration should be given to problem-based learning (PBL) as an approach to enabling students to gain an appreciation of the process of event planning and management. Although the idea of PBL has been applied to professional courses in educational settings since at least the 1950s, more recently its alleged benefits appear to match contemporary statements about desirable generic attributes for university students. The paper examines the PBL approach to an event management subject and suggests its superiority to more traditional teaching methodology.
