Effects of pre-stretching and aging process on tensile properties of 2195 Al-Cu-Li alloy

摘要
The 2195 Al-Cu-Li alloy was stretched to 0%-15% of plastic deformation along rolling direction prior to natural aging. It was found that the precipitates of the naturally aged alloy were delta' (Al3Li) phase. The size and amount of delta' precipitates appeared to be insensitive to pre-stretching. The yield strength of the alloy increased with increasing amount of pre-stretching. The increase in yield strength may be attributed to work hardening effect due to cold work (pre-stretching).
