Uplift resistance of pipelines buried in cohesionless soil

摘要
Centrifuge uplift tests have been performed to investigate the uplift behaviour of pipelines buried in a range of cohesionless soils. A comprehensive literature survey was also performed to review analytical models available to predict uplift resistances. Test results indicated that peak uplift resistances were mobilized within small pipe displacements and increased with embedment and were higher in dense models than in loose. Comparison of test results with analytical models showed that there is no one model that can be relied upon to predict uplift resistance. http://www.crcnetbase.com/doi/abs/10.1201/NOE0415415866.ch103
