摘要
The basic information on the nature of the high-carbon content fly ash was reported in this paper according to 250 data of carbon content in fly ash from operation tests of stoker boilers and 6 samples of fly ash and parent coal. Two samples were selected for the characterization on microstructure and combustion reactivity. It was concluded that: 1) Unlike in utility boilers, graphitization would not be considered the main reason for the high unburned carbon in fly ash in industrial boilers; 2) The reactivity of such ash remains relatively high; 3) High proportion of fines in coal supply is one of main causes for high unburned carbon in fly ash.
