The study of age hardening of Al 201-alloy and 2014-SiC composites was presented. The hardness of the aged samples was determined using an EQUOTIP SN 716-1159, Vers-1.16 hardness tester. At temperatures of 210 and 240 °C, higher hardness values were attained. For 2014 alloy + 10% SiC composites the average hardness was found to reach a maximum at 180 °C. On comparing the hardness of the alloy and composite, it was found that the composites exhibit higher hardness than alloys in both the cast and annealed conditions.
