摘要
burn victims as inpatients each year. The burns may require treatment in specialised centres depending on their degree and localisation as well as patient age and comorbidities. Burn patients with diabetes mellitus often undergo a complicated course with delayed healing due to the fundamental morbidity and frequent comorbidities, which poses special treatment challenges. In this contribution, we present four case reports on diabetic scald or burn patients that underwent cold plasma treatment with a successful outcome. Cold plasma is an ionised gas with various components such as ions and electrons, electric fields, visible light, UV radiation and heat, and reactive species. Cold plasma was the treatment of choice for these patients due to its antimicrobial and cell-stimulating effects.
