摘要
This experimental work on EDM process demands the optimization and mathematical modelling of the input variables impacting the output response and worth arranged reasonable manufacturing. In this experimental work the cutting variables namely pulse on time, pulse off time, peak current and tool diameter are optimized for better surface finish (R-a) on titanium alloy. The experimentation was performed using Taguchi three level and four factor (L-9) method. Grey relational analysis (GRA) was utilized to the study of R-a in EDM process of Ti-6Al-4 V under various machining condition. The results which have come out after the completion of the experiment gives that minimum R-a was 1.33 mu m conforming to exp. No 1. A confirmation experiment has been done at ideal arrangement of boundaries findings, and it gives approx. 3% error. The outcomes have uncovered that EDM machining has yielded minimal surface roughness under these cutting parameters. Also, anticipated outcomes have been observed to be in acceptable concurrence with test. Tool diameters have highest (66.63%) impact on GRG value. Copyright (C) 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
