Kenya is basically an agricultural country whose economic base is agriculture and agric-based industries. The major cash earning crops are coffee, tea, and horticultural products, mainly flowers and fruits. In this research, coffee farms were investigated with an objective of finding and quantifying the magnitude of agricultural accidents and their major causes. The research revealed that though coffee farms are not well mechanized, the rate of accidents is fairly high among the workers. It was further found out that the four major causes of accidents in coffee farms are: power driven machinery, falling of persons, falling objects, and motor vehicles accidents. Chemical burns and hand tools were also found to have significant contributions. Contributory factors are lack of policies and laws governing coffee farming industry in general, lack of training of personnel, and individual ignorance and negligence. Evaluation of reported cases of accidents in industry revealed that agriculture and agric-based industries in general ranked top of all industries whose workforce is covered by the Ministry of Labour Regulations.
