This is a review of "Vietnam in the Indo-Pacific: Challenges and Opportunities in a New Regional Landscape", a collection of essays issued in Australia (2018). The authors, researchers from Australia, Vietnam and the United States, contributed to the analysis of the foreign policy of Vietnam and its relations with Australia, China and the United States. Also, the articles assess the importance of a comprehensive renewal of Vietnamese society (Doi Moi) for Vietnamese diplomacy. Quite a prominent place on the pages of the book is given to the assessment of the situation in the South China Sea. The authors emphasize a high degree of importance of this matter for regional policy. Although the factual accounts commented in the book are well known to specialists, the conclusions seem to be quite non-trivial.
