Sustainable forestry must include environmental, economic and social elements. Workers have a very direct interest in forest sustainability; if forests are not managed sustainably, workers will not have jobs into the future. In addition, because of their close association with the forest, workers are able to make significant contributions to the practice of sustainable forestry. Specific worker concerns are as follows: 1. Right to organise 2. Job security 3. Remuneration and living and working conditions 4. Health and safety 5. Participation indecision-making 6. Training 7. Equality 8. Contract workers 9. Child labour 10. Migrant workers 11. Indigenous people 12. Community involvement.
