摘要
Microstructural characterization of aluminum (Al) 6063 nanocomposites plays a vital role in the field of materials engineering. Many of the earlier research studies showed that the evolution of aluminum 6063 stabilized the application in various fields of engineering and sciences. The present research focused on probing aluminum 6063 nanocomposites using X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy photogrammetry (SEM). Compositions of aluminum 6063 and aluminum 6063 with 0.5wt% gamma-aluminum oxide (gamma-Al2O3), 1wt% g-aluminum oxide, 2wt% gamma-aluminum oxide and 3wt% gamma-aluminum oxide were prepared and investigated for microstructural characterization. In XRD, SEM and TEM, the nanopowder particles form apparently bonds and their crystallographic structures were identified. Instead of chemical reactions, nanoparticles implicated the improvements in higher fracture toughness and shown in SEM fractograph of aluminum 6063 + 2wt% g-aluminum oxide than other compositions. In the SEM fractograph of aluminum 6063 + 3wt% gamma-aluminum oxide, the nanoparticles were widely spread and showed higher fracture toughness.
