Prediction of heat transfer and fluid flow over a rotating disk: Effect of the radial velocity profile

摘要
Results are presented of predicting heat transfer and fluid flow over a rotating disk using an integral method based on power-law velocity and temperature profiles and three different laws for the tangent of the flow swirl angle tan phi. It is shown that a quadratic correlation of tan phi is the most proper one for a free disk. In this case, resulting equation for the Nusselt number appeared to be in a better agreement with experimental data than known Dorfman's formula.
