The effect of machine behaviour and mechanical properties of intact sandstone under static and dynamic uniaxial cyclic loading

摘要
The results obtained from dynamic and static uniaxial cyclic loading tests on intact rock samples of carboniferous sandstone are presented. The samples tested were right circular cylinders having a height-to-diameter ratio of 1 with an average diameter of 47.6 mm. MTS-816 Rock Test System, consisting of hardware components and software applications that provided closed-loop control of servo-hydraulic test equipment, was used. Tests were conducted with an axial deformation controlling loading system, and the dynamic load was specified as a sinusoidal cyclic compressive load at dynamic loading frequencies ranging from 10 to 100Hz.
